Monarch Butterfly Grove
The Pismo Beach Monarch Butterfly Grove in the largest in California. From late October through February spectators from all over the state come to see thousands of colorful Monarch butterflies cluster on the limbs of Eucalyptus trees, seeking shelter from the freezing winter northern winters.


Wildlife Viewing
Parks in both the Pismo and Shell Beach areas are ideal for viewing various wildlife; birds, sea otters, seals, tide pools and migrating whales. Guided nature walks are available year round by State Park Docents.
